Creating a will is an essential part of securing your legacy and your family’s future. A gift by will, otherwise known as a bequest, can be any shape and any size. What matters is that your gift fits you and your unique family and financial circumstances. Over the years, bequests have provided Treasure Coast Hospice with invaluable support in our continued mission.
Any Shape
With a charitable bequest you can specify an amount of money or a certain percentage of your estate and leave it to your executor to make the arrangements. Or you can leave a specific piece of property, such as a stamp collection or a piece of real estate. If you prefer, you can specify that your gift to Treasure Coast Hospice is made only after all of your other bequests are paid. Or, if you are uncertain, you can even make your bequest gifts contingent on certain events occurring (or not occurring).
Any Size
Sometimes people think bequest gifts have to be very large or that they have to be rich to make one. Nothing could be further from the truth! Treasure Coast Hospice has received bequest gifts of all sizes. Each one is greatly appreciated and allows us to provide access to compassionate, caring, expert and professional hospice and grief support services to patients and families at the end of life. Even modest-sized gifts make a difference. What matters is that you pick the size that works for you and for your family.
If You Would Like to Remember Treasure Coast Hospice in Your Will
Here is an example of bequest language that you can share with your attorney:
“I give to the Hospice Foundation of Martin and St. Lucie, Inc., d/b/a Treasure Coat Hospice Foundation, or its successor, Federal Tax Identification Number 65-0047497 [insert here the dollar amount, percentage, or description of property] for its general purposes.”
