Over the past 40 years, Treasure Coast Hospice (TCH) has been fortunate to be the recipients of generous legacy gifts from community members with a passion for hospice care. Whether through provisions in their will or trust or gifts of retirement assets, their forward thinking combined with their love for our mission have advanced our services and will forever change the trajectory of our organization.
The gifts below are just a few examples of those that have transformed our organization and I hope as you read them, it gets you thinking about what you could accomplish with a legacy gift to TCH. While some gift amounts may seem out of reach, approximately 40% percent of the bequests we receive are below $15,000. When combined, these smaller gifts elevate each other and within our endowment are growing, allowing TCH to weather future crises and navigate the ever-changing reimbursement structure.
So, whether big or small, a legacy gift to TCH will make an impact. There is no minimum requirement and every dollar makes a difference. Together, your passion and purpose could be the next catalyst for TCH to bring our care to the next level.
Have you thought about how you can make a difference today?
Transformative Gifts Given to TCH
Lynch Pavilion – provided by a bequest from an anonymous donor in honor of Barbara Lynch utilized for the renovation of our inpatient units, including new nurse call systems, in-wall oxygen and suction, roofing, flooring, refreshed patient rooms, furniture, landscaping, and décor.
Harper Fund – allows for financially insecure patients and grief clients to have basic comforts like Meals on Wheels, utility bills paid, groceries, personal care like sheets, bedding, and even special travel arrangements for family to visit one last time. Established by the Harper Family in memory of Barbara Harper and the care she received at one of TCH’s inpatient units, later named in her honor.
The Rem & Cheryl Mayes Virtual Reality Endowment – Established to ensure that patients and families have access to the special experience of virtual reality, bringing joy, comfort, and reduced negative symptoms.
Others who held a vision for TCH’s stability and growth have provided for funds to our endowment. These gifts have allowed for continued staff education and certification and provide protection for our services and unknown future needs. While there is a minimum to establish a named endowment at TCH, any size gift can be designated to our general endowment.
If you are considering leaving TCH in your will or estate plans, or want to discuss other creative ways to leave a legacy, please reach out to Ashley Haughton, CFRE, at 772-403-4594.
